Vulnerability Scanning

Our Vulnerability Scanning Services

External Vulnerability Scanning

We scan everything visible from the internet, including your firewall, remote access, email and public-facing servers, to see what an attacker could see.

Internal Vulnerability Scanning

We scan the devices and servers inside your network to find missing patches, outdated software and insecure settings that could let an attacker spread.

Full TCP and UDP Port Scanning

Every scan includes a full port scan, showing which services are exposed and whether they should be.

Patch and Configuration Checks

We confirm whether your systems are patched sufficiently and configured securely, and flag anything that falls short.

Ongoing Scheduled Scanning

Regular scans, such as monthly or quarterly, to catch new vulnerabilities as soon as they appear, not months later.

When Do You Need a Vulnerability Scan?

A client, supplier, or tender has asked for evidence of your security

You’re preparing for Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus or ISO 27001

Your cyber insurance is up for renewal

You’ve made changes to your network, servers or cloud setup

You’ve never had an independent check of your patching and settings

You want regular reassurance that nothing has been missed

How Our Vulnerability Scanning Works

1

Scope

We agree which systems, IP addresses, and networks to scan, and when.

2

Scan

We run internal and external scans, plus a full port scan, with no disruption to your team.

3

Verify

Our engineers check every finding to remove false positives.

4

Report

You receive a clear, risk-ranked report and a walkthrough of the results.

5

Fix and rescan

We close the gaps and rescan to confirm they’re resolved.

From Scan to Fixed, Not Just a Reports

Most scanning providers send a report and leave you to work out the rest. As a managed IT support provider, we can apply the updates, change the settings, and close the exposed services for you.
That means vulnerabilities don’t sit on a to-do list for months. They get fixed, verified, and documented, so you have clear evidence for clients, insurers, and auditors.

FAQs

Vulnerability Scanning FAQs

What is a vulnerability scan?

A vulnerability scan checks your systems for known security weaknesses, such as missing updates, insecure settings, and exposed services, and lists them by risk.

Do we still need a firewall if we use Microsoft 365 and the cloud?

External scanning looks at what’s visible from the internet. Internal scanning looks inside your network. Together, they give you a complete picture.

How often should we scan?

At least quarterly for most SMEs, and monthly if you handle sensitive data or need to meet strict client requirements. Also scan after any major IT change.

Will scanning disrupt our business?

No. Scans are non-intrusive, planned with you in advance, and can run out of hours.

Do you fix the vulnerabilities you find?

Yes. As your managed IT support provider, we can apply patches and fix settings, then rescan to confirm everything is resolved.

How long does a scan take?

Most SME scans are completed within a few days, with your report delivered shortly after.

Which areas do you cover?

We support businesses across London, Essex and the South East, including managed IT support in London, managed IT support in Essex and IT support in Billericay.
